CloudMosa Raised $16.5M in Series A Round
November 26, 2014. GIC, Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund, invested in CloudMosa’s Series A round as the lead investor. As of its final closing on March 24, 2015, a total of $21.625M was raised with $16.5M in new capital and $5.125M in note conversion.
CloudMosa is the creator of the “wicked fast” Puffin Web Browser. The key technology behind the Puffin Web Browser is its “cloud acceleration” – offloading CPU intensive and data demanding parts of web page rendering to high performance cloud servers while displaying full web page content through the client app on much less powerful mobile devices. In addition to its superior speed, Puffin Browser has numerous bonus features including Adobe Flash support, mobile data compression and Internet access security. CloudMosa owns more than 6,000 dedicated servers in three data centers in US with plans to expand its data centers globally with the help of this Series A.
CloudMosa’s oversubscribed Series A round includes such prominent institutional investors as Inventec, Morningside, Lenovo, Foxconn and WSGR. The individual investors include Dr. Leonard Kleinrock, Jason Pong, Ming-To Yu, CloudMosa’s founder, executives and engineers.
